Concept
Marbleous Garden is an oversized enchanted garden interpreted by samples of Landscape Collection by Rosenthal, where the use of natural materials such as marble, stone and onyx play on bright and dark, light and shadow, bas-reliefs and patterns, empty and full spaces. Surrounded by a “grillage”, the composition is served to the public on an embroidered tray where hosts find themselves like “Alice in Wonderland”, surrounded by huge sizes vases coming in many different patterns, cups turned upside down to act as seats, bowls which aspire to become bathtubs. The refined textures are not only superficial decorations, but become a sort of bas-relief inspired by the idea of stylish virus that spread throughout the shape: expressed in different heights, concave, convex or visible only through transparences. Contemporary interpretation, combination between traditional “engraving” and numerical calculus technologies. Natural colours and vegetation enliven the scenario.
Project
This installation is completely made of marble, onyx and stone. Installation maximum height: 2.10 m. Base surface area: 6 m x 6.5 m. Platform size: a tray in perforated Carrara marble measuring 6 m x 6.5 m. Lighting comes from within the objects and outside the structure. Almost all the surfaces are perforated and/or decorated with patterns. Landscape design by Stefano Baccari.
Marsotto
Marsotto processes marble, granite, stones and agglomerates using modern technologies and developing specific decoration and interior design projects. For this project the company has developed the seats, four onyx poufs with embroideries on the surface.
Testi Fratelli
Testi Fratelli is a company that has continued its extracting activities since it owns quarries in Sardinia and Piedmont. This is one of the leading companies in the natural stone sector and is also a direct importer of raw marble and granites. For this project it has developed the bathtub and two vases, a small and a big one.
Budri
Budri’s marquetry and mosaics, which are well-known all over the world, are the result of the association of an ancient tradition with the most advanced manufacturing technologies. For the installation it has developed the tray in Carrara marble which contains the collection.
Grassi Pietre
Vicenza stone is extracted from Grassi Pietre’s quarries, in a variety of finishes: Golden Yellow, Ivory White, Silver Grey, Sea Stone and Alps Grey. For the installation this company has developed the “grillage” geometric structure in stone.
Marmomacc-Veronafiere
The 44th Mostra Internazionale di Pietre, Design e Tecnologie (international exhibition of stones, design and technologies), scheduled from 30th September to 3rd October 2009 in Verona, once again stands out a world leading event. For this project Marmomacc has coordinated the four companies: Budri, Grassi Pietre, Marsotto and Testi Fratelli.
