MARCO PIVA defines his language as exciting, fluid, functional, signing his creations connected to architecture, product design and interior design. Efforts that focused on the search for materials and technology, the value of differentiation and design innovation led to the founding of Studiodada Associati in 1978, with creations that became some of the most symbolic representations of the Radical Design period. In 1984 Studio Marco Piva was opened, with activities ranging from large architectural projects for tourist facilities, to interior design and finally industrial design. A traveller yet before than a designer, he studies and creates design solutions which are pervaded by stylistic freedom, the objects are full of emotion and new symbolism, colours contrast intellectualism and rigidity. From 1987 to 1990 he is appointed as a member of the Presidential Board of ADI, the Industrial Design Association. In 1987, Marco Piva also founded IDA, International Design Agency, an Italian interface for a World Design Network system. Then, from 1988 to 1991 he held the position of Italian Commissioner for the European Community Spring project for innovation and technology transfer. He realized a number of architecure and interior design projects, including: the design and construction of the innovative residential complex Next 21 in Osaka, Japan, the Laguna Palace Laguna Suites at Mestre, the Port Palace in Montecarlo, the Una Hotel in Bologna, the T Hotel in Cagliari. For the Gruppo Boscolo he realized the Suites of the Exedra in Rome, the B4 Net Tower of Padua and the Tower Hotel of Bologna. In Dubai, Marco Piva designed the Tiara Hotel and the Oceana Hotel on Palm Jumeirah, and the innovative complex Porto Dubai. In Abu Dhabi he is realising the new residential complex Melody Homes and Rawdhat. In Russia he is designing the new complex of the Novosibirsk fluvial port. In Italy he is at present engaged in designing the New Caprera Club Med, the Crystal Towers at Pero, the A.B.C. Terminal in Milan Linate and for Alemagna Uno at Mogliano Veneto, as well as in the realisation of the multifunctional complex Le Terrazze at Treviso.
